Applications open November 13th, 2023 and close Feb 5th, 2024.
Once you have submitted your application you will receive a confirmation email with your response. After your submission, you will be required to wait until after Feb. 5th, when applications close for further information. After applications close you will receive notification on Feb. 15th if you have been invited to an individual interview.

Yes, COMs are required to hold at least 10 hours of office hours. Office hours must be done in person, but can be completed online from time to time.
No you cannot. All candidates will be required to choose one position. There are no exceptions for any students.

- Minimum 20 hours per week.
- Minimum of 10 hours of NOM.
- Minimum of 8 hours of weekend availability.
- This doesn't mean you will work this amount of hours but it is what you are required to provide in order for the staff schedule to be completed
This availability CAs provide to their supervisor with certain blocks of time of when they would prefer to work. Their supervisor then creates, typically, a monthly schedule based on all CAs availability. This is how scheduling works for all buildings.
CA building placements are completed by hiring managers. Hiring managers will take into consideration the preferences you selected in your application, but they are not guaranteed.

You are required to attend training. If you cannot be there you may not be hired as a CA. Please review the aforementioned dates and notify the managers as soon as possible if you cannot attend training(s).

All CAs are paid SF minimum wage for shifts worked 8AM-12AM and a $1 more for shifts worked 12AM-8AM.
Community Assistant training is a combination of residence hall policies, like checking guests in and out, desk policies, and desk procedures, like how to assign access cards or check out equipment. There is also a focus on problem solving, team building and customer service orientation.

No, being hired for Summer Guest Housing will not affect your work-study award. Summer Guest Housing positions are open to students with or without work-study. Work study is not valid during the summer months.
No, we do not provide a meal plan for summer staff.
All Summer Guest Housing staff members will be provided with polo shirts that have the “Summer Guest Housing” logo on them. Staff members are required to wear their polo shirts anytime they are working at a desk. These polo shirts may be worn with slacks, jeans, or appropriate attire.

Summer Guest Housing positions are open to all current USF students, including current freshman, international students, and graduate students who will continue courses in the Fall Semester or possibly graduate in August.
GPA requirements do NOT apply for SGH applicants, UNLESS you are enrolling in summer school classes
**Please Note - Graduating Seniors (or graduated students) are not eligible to apply. You must be registered for classes in the fall to work for SGH.**
